It seems that everything that the tech CEO Elon Musk touches turns into gold. Surprised right? Well, if you don’t believe it, here is some news for you that is recently trending now. So just a few days back, the Tesla founder had reposted a meme, and shortly after that, it got sold for $20k.
Are you curious to know more about it? Well, let us discuss the events that made this seemingly impossible possible.
What was The Meme All About?
As you know, the netizens often refer to Elon Musk as a meme lord. Besides being a highly successful businessman, his sense of humor adds to his charming personality even more.
So pretty recently, he had reposted a meme on Twitter. In fact, the cartoon meme was about a couple who was sharing an intimate moment while gazing at the price of bitcoin and ether. The prices were shown as $69,000 and $4,200, respectively.
Where did The Meme Originate From?
Well, it was the “hobby artist” Eva Beylin who originally posted the meme. As you know, Elon Musk never gives credit for the memes he reposts. Therefore, a similar thing happened here as well. In fact, Eva named this meme “Love in The Time of Web3”. It was then; it caught the attention of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. So he reposted shortly after that.
However, soon after that, the post received a significant amount of attention from people all over the world. In fact, the meme presently has around 696k likes and 89.9k retweets on Twitter. So you can well understand that the tweet became famous overnight.

After seeing the growing popularity of the meme, Eva Beylin decided to list it as an NFT on marketplace Zora. However, she never imagined that someone would actually purchase it at such a high rate. So two days later, she found that an anonymous buyer had bought it for five wrapped ether. The price at that time was around $19,800.

In fact, this utterly shocked Beylin. “It is surreal,” she said during her CNBC interview. She had already listed the meme on an NFT marketplace for 69.42 wrapped ether. It equates to around $275,000. So you can well understand that if the artwork successfully resells, Beylin would receive a 15% royalty.

Eva Beylin had never imagined that Tech CEO Elon Musk would someday repost it. Therefore, she was on cloud nine after this. Especially when an anonymous buyer bought the meme at such a high rate, her joys knew no bounds. Her dream came true.
